Jeffrey Havard is not the man portrayed by prosecutors during his 2002 trial. Regrettably, the jury that convicted him was deprived of the opportunity to learn who the real Jeffrey Havard is. Had Jeffrey been given a proper defense, undoubtedly, the outcome of his trial would have been different.

Jeff is a compassionate person who could never commit the heinous crime for which he has been unjustly convicted. He is an innocent man enduring the anguish of living through everyone’s worst nightmare, trapped in a waking nightmare.

Jeff said, “In a million alternate universes or realities, I would never even think of doing what I am accused of.”

Before the Accident

Jeffrey was born on November 11, 1978, in Natchez, Mississippi. Shortly after his first birthday, he moved to LaPlace, Louisiana, but returned to Natchez to live with his grandparents just before turning 14, forming an exceptionally strong bond with them.

Before moving back, Jeffrey took pride in being an older brother, helping care for his younger siblings. He was especially excited when his brother Dalton was born, eagerly taking on responsibilities like feeding, changing, and rocking him.

From a young age, Jeffrey had a natural affinity for children. He occasionally babysat for his employer, who had two daughters aged two and four, dedicating himself to the task, eventually leading to a regular babysitting arrangement.

Jeffrey has always loved the outdoors, enjoying both leisure and work activities. He relished hunting and fishing trips with his grandfather, and he valued the opportunity to navigate their family boat alone with his grandfather’s approval, coasting the open waters at his leisure.

In addition to his love for the outdoors, Jeffrey has a passion for music that spans various genres, mainly rock. Led Zeppelin is his favorite band, but he also enjoys country, bluegrass, alternative rock, and classical music.

Inspired by his friend Will’s enlistment in boot camp at Camp Shelby, Jeffrey was motivated to expedite his education. He graduated high school a year early, ranking in the top 10% of his class, and was invited back to Camp Shelby as a student counselor.

After Camp Shelby, Jeffrey explored various jobs, including lab technician and lead mate on a riverboat, where his love for the outdoors made the experience particularly fulfilling.

Travel and adventure have always intrigued Jeffrey, a passion rooted in his childhood summers spent with his grandfather, a long-distance truck driver. He had the opportunity to accompany his grandfather on cross-country journeys during summer breaks from school.

Jeffrey is a devoted sports fan who supports the New Orleans Saints in the NFL and Louisiana State University (LSU) in college football. He is also a Red Sox fan who hopes to see a game at Fenway Park, and he dreams of attending the Kentucky Derby someday.

Jeffrey Havard: A Portrait of Strength and Integrity

Jeffrey has a broad circle of friends who stand by him, and he has significant public support, which has turned many of those supporters into friends.

His actions regarding Chloe Britt were not intentional; they resulted from a tragic accident. Isn’t the constant replaying of that moment punishment enough, akin to a life sentence?

Jeffrey deeply wishes he could change that life-changing moment when he lost his grip on Chloe and chose not to inform her mother out of fear.

He was not acting deceitfully; he was simply trying to embrace the responsibilities of fatherhood, a role not often taken on by young men.

Despite enduring over two decades of hell on earth, Jeffrey remains strong and morally upright. He is determined to finally secure a fair trial and due process, which have eluded him thus far.

While there are individuals whose actions warrant concern, Jeffrey is not one of them. Instead, he is an innocent man who has been unjustly railroaded.
